Hotels near Canada Place: where to stay before a Vancouver cruise

Pan Pacific Vancouver is the closest hotel to the Canada Place cruise terminal: it is inside Canada Place, above the terminal, and its cruise package lists a direct elevator to it. Fairmont Waterfront, across the road, is a 3-minute walk, and all 13 downtown hotels here are within 18 minutes on foot. None of the 18 lists a cruise shuttle. For a late flight, five hotels at or near YVR airport are 25 to 31 minutes from the terminal by car.

Walking and driving times are OpenStreetMap routes from each hotel's address to the terminal building, without traffic. Past a 25-minute walk we give the drive instead. Shuttle, package and parking details are from each hotel's own website, read on November 4, 2026. Room rates change daily, so we don't print them: "Check prices" opens the hotel on Booking.com, which pays us a commission if you book. It doesn't change the order of this list.

Pan Pacific Vancouver is the closest hotel to the ships. It is inside Canada Place, the building that holds the cruise terminal, and its own page says it is "located above the Canada Place cruise terminal". Fairmont Waterfront, across the road, is a 3-minute walk on our route, and Fairmont Pacific Rim is 5. All 13 downtown hotels in the table are within an 18-minute walk.

The table above has 18 hotels in two groups:

  • 13 downtown, from 1 to 18 minutes on foot from the terminal
  • 5 at or near Vancouver International Airport (YVR): the Fairmont inside the YVR terminal, the Radisson Blu on Sea Island and three in Richmond, 25 to 31 minutes from Canada Place by car

What we say about each hotel comes from its own website or its brand's page for the property, as it read on 4 November 2026. The walking and driving times are ours, measured over OpenStreetMap from each hotel's address to the cruise terminal in Canada Place, without traffic, on the same day. Prices are in Canadian dollars, written C$, and we print no room rates. This site is independent. It is not the Port of Vancouver, Canada Place, any of these hotels or a cruise line. Our Canada Place terminal guide covers the building itself.

Which hotel is closest to the Vancouver cruise terminal at Canada Place?

Pan Pacific Vancouver, at 999 Canada Place, the same address the port gives for the terminal. On our route it is a 1-minute walk. Its Cruise Package, compared below, lists a "Direct elevator to Canada Place cruise ship terminal" and "Complimentary luggage transfer to Canada Place Pier / cruise ship."

The Pan Pacific's self and valet parking are in the Canada Place garage, which its page says "is independently owned and not managed by the hotel". Self-parking tickets come from Indigo's machines there. The page gives no price.

Next come the two Fairmonts on the same street. Fairmont Waterfront, at 900 Canada Place, is a 3-minute walk, and its cruise offer page puts it "steps from the Canada Place Cruise Ship Terminal". Fairmont Pacific Rim, at 1038 Canada Place by the foot of Burrard Street, is a 5-minute walk.

Can you walk to Canada Place from a downtown Vancouver hotel?

Yes, from all 13 downtown hotels here. Our walking routes put them in three bands:

  • Under 10 minutes. Pan Pacific (1), Fairmont Waterfront (3), Fairmont Pacific Rim (5), Days Inn by Wyndham Vancouver Downtown on West Pender Street (6), Delta Hotels Vancouver Downtown Suites on West Hastings by Waterfront Station (7), Metropolitan Hotel Vancouver on Howe Street and Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront on West Hastings (8 each), and Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle Downtown (9).
  • 10 or 11 minutes. Coast Coal Harbour Vancouver Hotel by APA and The Victorian Hotel (10 each), and Fairmont Hotel Vancouver on West Georgia Street (11).
  • 15 minutes or more. Hilton Vancouver Downtown (15) and Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Vancouver-Downtown (18), both on Robson Street. The Hampton is across from BC Place stadium, not on the waterfront.

Two of these share a name. Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront, at 1133 West Hastings, and Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle Downtown, at 1128 West Hastings, are different hotels across the street from each other.

By car, every downtown hotel is 3 to 6 minutes from the terminal, but the drive is longer than the walk because it loops around one-way streets. From Fairmont Waterfront it is about 0.14 miles on foot and two thirds of a mile by car. The terminal guide explains where cars drop passengers off.

Some hotels give their own walking times. Delta's cruise package page says it is "only a 7-minute walk from the Cruise Terminal", the same as our route. Metropolitan's says "Only a 14-minute walk or a 15-minute drive away"; we measured 8 minutes on foot and 5 by car. Coast Coal Harbour puts the terminal "0.5 km" away on its cruise page and Canada Place "a 10-minute walk" away on its home page. Our route is 0.83 km, about half a mile, and 10 minutes.

Which Vancouver hotels have a cruise package?

Five downtown hotels list one on their own or their brand's pages. Here is what each includes, with the dates as each hotel stated them on 4 November 2026:

Hotel and packageWhat it includesRide to the terminalDates, as the hotel gives them
Pan Pacific Vancouver, Cruise PackageBreakfast for two at Oceans 999, luggage transfer to the ship, Wi-FiNone needed. The package lists a direct elevator to the terminalBookable 26 September 2026 to 16 October 2027, "for stays during the 2027 Cruise Season through to 31 October 2027"
Fairmont Waterfront, Connect With Your Cruise OfferA night's stay, buffet breakfast for two adults at ARC Restaurant + Bar, luggage porterage from your room to the terminalNone. It is a 3-minute walkStays "from May through October 2026"
Delta Hotels Vancouver Downtown Suites, Cruise Package (code TRS)Luggage handling to your suite, C$40 in hotel creditOne way, with a C$10 transportation voucherStays 1 October 2026 to 1 June 2027 on the offer page. The hotel's own list of offers gives 1 November 2026 to 30 June 2027
Metropolitan Hotel Vancouver, Cruise Package (code TRS)A C$50 food and beverage credit at Diva at the Met for each night you stayOne way, with a C$10 taxi voucherStays 1 October 2026 to 1 June 2027. Not valid for groups of 10 or more rooms
Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront, Cruise PackageA C$50 dining credit, late check-outA taxi voucher to the Canada Place cruise terminalNone given

Fairmont Waterfront's offer was for the 2026 season. Its page still showed those stay dates on 4 November 2026, and no 2027 version had been published when we checked. The same page offers weekly parking to cruise guests on request, covered in the parking section below.

Metropolitan's package and Delta's offer page, both on Marriott's site, end with stays on 1 June 2027. Delta's list of offers on its hotel page runs to 30 June 2027 instead. Either way, as written, neither package covers a night in July 2027 or later. Pinnacle Harbourfront's page describes its package in one line and gives no dates or terms.

We don't print package prices. Check them on each hotel's page, which the table links.

Is there a cruise shuttle from Vancouver hotels to Canada Place?

No. None of the 18 hotels lists a cruise shuttle. Three cruise packages pay toward a one-way ride instead: Delta's C$10 transportation voucher, Metropolitan's C$10 taxi voucher and Pinnacle Harbourfront's taxi voucher. A voucher is not a hotel shuttle.

The two hotels closest to the terminal help with bags instead. Pan Pacific's package includes luggage transfer to the ship. Fairmont Waterfront's guest services page says it "offers luggage assistance to the Canada Place cruise ship terminal for guests departing on a Vancouver cruise without pre-arranged transportation". To ask for it, guests dial "0" before 11:30 a.m. on departure day and should have their passport and cruise tags ready.

Hilton Vancouver Airport's "Park, Stay, & Go" offer says "Some hotels may also offer service to nearby cruise ports. Check with your hotel for cruise port availability before booking." It names no port, so we don't count it as a cruise shuttle.

Can you leave your car at a Vancouver hotel during your cruise?

Two downtown hotels say you can:

  • Delta Hotels Vancouver Downtown Suites. Its cruise package page says: "Looking for cruise parking? Get $10 OFF daily parking (min. 7 days) at the hotel. Enquire with the Front Desk upon arrival." Marriott's page for the hotel lists self parking at C$52 a day, with the garage entrance at 438 Seymour Street and 6 feet of clearance.
  • Fairmont Waterfront. The terms of its 2026 cruise offer say "Convenient weekly self-parking rates are available for cruise guests upon request". No rate is given.

The other hotels' rates are for the nights you stay, and some say so. Pinnacle Harbourfront's parking "is valid from registration until 5:00 PM on the day of departure". The Victorian says "On-site long term parking is not available."

The Port of Vancouver's page for cruise passengers lists long-term parking in the Canada Place parkade and sends you to Indigo to book it. Indigo's cruise parking page gave the parkade as C$74.50 a day on 4 November 2026, at the pay stations or booked ahead, with booking, convenience and transaction fees added when you book. Indigo sells three other downtown garages to cruise passengers at C$50 plus fees to C$60 a day. Our Vancouver cruise parking guide compares them.

Check where your cruise ends before you park. 342 of the 749 sailings on our schedule are one-way and finish somewhere else, so the car would stay in Vancouver.

How much is hotel parking near Canada Place?

Downtown, self parking on the hotels' pages on 4 November 2026 ran from C$25 plus tax at Days Inn to C$80 a night at Fairmont Pacific Rim, and valet reached C$85 a night at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. The table gives each hotel's rate. What it can't hold:

  • Tax. Pinnacle Harbourfront (C$47 a night), Fairmont Waterfront (C$58), Fairmont Hotel Vancouver (C$70) and Fairmont Pacific Rim include taxes, and The Victorian's C$50.12 is with tax. Coast Coal Harbour charges C$33.45 a night, valet only, "approximately $45.31 after tax".
  • Two prices at Fairmont Pacific Rim. Its Location & Contact page gives C$80 overnight for valet or self parking. Its home page gives C$65.
  • No period at Days Inn. The hotel's own site says "Park your car for just $25 + Tax" without saying for how long, and Wyndham's page for it gives no price.
  • Height. Pinnacle Harbourfront and Delta have 6 feet of clearance, the downtown Hampton less than 6 feet and Days Inn 6 feet 4 inches. Fairmont Waterfront charges C$125 a night for an over-height vehicle.
  • Space. The Victorian has "limited on-site parking". It doesn't reserve spaces, which go first come, first served.

Driving up from Washington? Two hotels had resident offers on 4 November 2026. Fairmont Pacific Rim's says "Residents of British Columbia, Washington State and Alberta enjoy a late check-out of 2:00pm and complimentary self-parking." Pinnacle Harbourfront's Washington Resident Rate includes "complimentary overnight parking ($47 value)" with valid WA State ID at check-in. Neither page mentions parking while you cruise.

Hotels near YVR for a cruise from Vancouver

If your flight lands late, five hotels at or near the airport save the ride downtown that night. Our routes, measured on 4 November 2026 without traffic:

HotelWhereTo the YVR terminalTo Canada Place by carAirport shuttle
Fairmont Vancouver AirportInside the YVR terminalIn the building28 minutes, 9.9 miles"No shuttle is required"
Radisson Blu Vancouver Airport Hotel & MarinaCessna Drive, Sea Island7 minutes by car25 minutes, 8.2 milesFree
Hampton Inn by Hilton Vancouver-Airport/RichmondBridgeport Road, Richmond9 minutes by car26 minutes, 8.7 milesFree, 24 hours
Vancouver Airport Marriott HotelWestminster Highway, central Richmond14 minutes by car30 minutes, 10.0 milesFree, scheduled
Hilton Vancouver AirportMinoru Boulevard, central Richmond14 minutes by car31 minutes, 10.2 milesFree, at 10 and 40 minutes past the hour from Level 3 at YVR

Only the Fairmont needs no shuttle or taxi on the night you land, since it is inside the terminal. Its page says it is "located across from the Canada Line station" and that the ride to Waterfront station downtown takes "approximately 25 minutes". The port says the cruise terminal is next to Waterfront station, so on sailing day the Canada Line links the two without a taxi.

All three Richmond hotels mention SkyTrain. The Marriott is "steps from the Canada Line SkyTrain Station", and the Hampton says "The Bridgeport Station Skytrain is short walk from our door". The Hilton is "a five-minute walk from the CF Richmond Centre, with shops, dining, and SkyTrain links to Vancouver". Its page also says "Cruise Ports are within 30 minutes"; our route to Canada Place measures 31.

At the airport hotels, the Hampton's parking is free, the Hilton's C$35 a night and the Marriott's C$35 a day. The Fairmont charges C$55 a night, taxes included, in the YVR Terminal Parkade, with a height limit of 6 feet 6 inches. The Radisson Blu lists C$25 for a standard vehicle without saying for how long.

For a car left while you sail, read the offers closely. The Radisson's "7 Day Park and Fly" and "14 Day Park and Fly" packages and the Marriott's "Long Term Parking", listed without a price, are airport parking. Hilton Vancouver Airport's "Park, Stay, & Go" offer reads "Book a 1-night stay at any participating hotel and enjoy parking for up to 7 nights, plus shuttle service to and from select airports." None of the three names Canada Place, so ask the hotel before counting on leaving a car there while you sail.

The YVR airport to Canada Place guide compares the Canada Line, taxis and transfers.

Pre-cruise hotel in Vancouver: downtown or near YVR?

Downtown puts the ship within walking distance on sailing morning. All 13 downtown hotels here are within 18 minutes on foot, and all five cruise packages are downtown. A YVR hotel saves the trip into the city on the night you land and leaves a 25 to 31 minute drive on our routes, or a Canada Line ride, on sailing day.

The night before a Vancouver cruise: check-out times and bag drop

If you fly in the day before and stay one night, the hotel's check-out time matters more than its check-in. The port says bags can be checked "starting between 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Pacific time on the day of your sailing". The terminal guide covers bag drop and arrival times.

From the hotels' own pages:

  • Check-out at 11 a.m. Delta, The Victorian, Hilton Vancouver Downtown and the downtown Hampton.
  • Check-out at noon. Every other hotel here that states a time, including all five near YVR. Days Inn's times load by script on Wyndham's page and we could not read them.
  • Check-in at 3 p.m. Fairmont Waterfront, Fairmont Pacific Rim, Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, Pinnacle Harbourfront, The Victorian, the downtown Hampton, Fairmont Vancouver Airport, the Radisson Blu and the airport Hampton.
  • Check-in at 4 p.m. Pan Pacific, Coast Coal Harbour, Marriott Pinnacle, Metropolitan, Delta, Hilton Vancouver Downtown, Hilton Vancouver Airport and the Airport Marriott.

Where a hotel's pages disagree, as Coast Coal Harbour's, both Hiltons' and the downtown Hampton's do, these are the times on its hotel information page or FAQ.

The minimum check-in age is 19 at Pinnacle Harbourfront, Delta, Metropolitan, The Victorian ("unless accompanied by an adult"), Fairmont Vancouver Airport and the Vancouver Airport Marriott.

Breakfast is free at Days Inn (continental) and at both Hamptons (hot). The Pan Pacific and Fairmont Waterfront cruise packages include breakfast for two.

Staying in Vancouver after your cruise

407 of the 749 sailings on our schedule are round trips that end back at Canada Place. The port's flat taxi fares from the terminal, on its page on 4 November 2026, started at C$16 to a downtown hotel and were C$42 to YVR. Check-in at the hotels here is 3 or 4 p.m. where they give a time. The terminal has day storage for bags; see luggage storage at Canada Place.

Destination marketing fee at Vancouver hotels

Hilton's pages for three hotels in the table, Hilton Vancouver Downtown, Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Vancouver-Downtown and Hilton Vancouver Airport, list a "Daily Mandatory Charge" that includes a "Destination Marketing Fee". None of the three pages gives the amount. The downtown Hampton's page adds that the charge "will be added to the room rate".

Why some hotels near Canada Place are not listed

Two downtown hotels are left out on purpose:

  • Hyatt Regency Vancouver, 655 Burrard Street. Hyatt's website answered our requests with a bot check, so we could not read the hotel's own pages. We list a hotel only from its own site.
  • Shangri-La Vancouver, 1128 West Georgia Street. Shangri-La's page for it now shows a notice: "Shangri-La Group is no longer managing Shangri-La Vancouver and we are unable to accept reservations for this property through this channel."

Still choosing a sailing? All 749 sailings on our schedule leave from Canada Place, and the Alaska cruises from Vancouver guide compares the routes.
