Alaska cruises from Vancouver: routes, glaciers and round trips

Most cruises leaving Vancouver go to Alaska, between April and September, and most of them last seven nights. Round trips sail the Inside Passage to towns such as Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway and come back to Canada Place. One-way trips sail north and end in Whittier or Seward, the two cruise ports on the railway to Anchorage. We group them by glacier: Glacier Bay (323 sailings), Hubbard Glacier (136), Endicott Arm (79), Tracy Arm (40) and other routes (89).

Alaska is most of the Vancouver cruise schedule. Of the 749 sailings we list from the Canada Place cruise terminal, the large majority go north to Alaska, and the rest are spread across Hawaii, the Pacific coast, Asia and a few long voyages. Every line on our schedule sails to Alaska from here, from Princess and Holland America, which run most of the trips, to Virgin Voyages.

This site is independent. It is not the Port of Vancouver, Canada Place or a cruise line, and it does not sell cruises.

We file every Alaska cruise under the glacier it visits, because that is the clearest difference between two trips that otherwise call at the same towns. A cruise that reaches two of them goes under the first in this list, so many Glacier Bay trips also see Hubbard Glacier.

Cruises from Vancouver to Alaska: round trip or one-way?

A round trip leaves Canada Place and comes back to it, so you fly in and out of Vancouver. A one-way trip sails north and ends in Alaska, usually at Whittier or Seward, and you get yourself from there to Anchorage and a flight home.

Princess sells both kinds from Vancouver and explains the difference on its own route page. Its Inside Passage cruises usually sail round trip, while its Voyage of the Glaciers is one-way between Vancouver and Whittier, "the port for Anchorage". Princess says the one-way route covers roughly 500 miles more, crosses the open Gulf of Alaska into Prince William Sound, and suits people adding a land tour to Denali. It also says the Inside Passage usually has calmer seas.

Round trips are the simpler plan: one airport, one hotel city, and no train in Alaska. One-way trips go on across the Gulf of Alaska, and Princess and Holland America sell their Denali land tours as extensions of them. Our one-way Alaska cruise guide covers Whittier, Seward, the trains to Anchorage and those cruisetours.

7-day Alaska cruises from Vancouver

Seven nights is the usual Alaska trip. The whole schedule has 476 seven-night sailings, and almost all of them go to Alaska. Lines that count in days call the same trip a 7-day cruise: Holland America sells a "7-Day Alaska Inside Passage" round trip from Vancouver, and Princess calls its one-way trips 7-day sailings.

A typical 7-night round trip calls at Skagway and Ketchikan, among other towns, with a day or two of scenic cruising at glaciers. Holland America runs it mainly on Koningsdam and Zaandam to Glacier Bay, and Princess on Emerald Princess to Glacier Bay or Endicott Arm. Celebrity, Royal Caribbean and Disney run their own versions. The Princess and Holland America one-ways north add a day at College Fjord before they reach Whittier.

Fares here and below are starting fares per person in US dollars, for the cheapest cabin listed, with taxes and fees included, as we read them on 4 November 2026. The 7-night cruises page lists every one by date.

14-night Alaska round trips from Vancouver

A 14-night Alaska round trip from Vancouver is a northbound and a southbound trip sold as one booking. On Princess and Holland America the ship sails north to Whittier, turns round and comes back with Hubbard Glacier on the way south, so several ports come round twice. The schedule has 113 of these on the Glacier Bay route, from Princess, Holland America and Seabourn, plus 9 Seabourn trips to Tracy Arm and 4 on Explora III.

Princess calls its version the Voyage of the Glaciers Grand Adventure, a round trip from Vancouver. Cruisebound, our fare source, lists the turnaround stop on Princess's 14-night trips as "Anchorage". Princess's own pages say those ships dock at Whittier, so our schedule shows Whittier.

On 4 November 2026 the 14-night Glacier Bay round trips started at $1,363 per person, or $97 a night. Seabourn Encore's 14-night trips stay in Southeast Alaska, with Sitka, Haines and Juneau, and stop at Prince Rupert and Alert Bay in British Columbia on the way back.

A few round trips are longer still. Holland America's Zaandam has an 18-night trip (first sailing 24 April 2027) and Oosterdam a 16-night trip (28 April 2028), both reaching Kodiak, Valdez and Anchorage. Holland America's 2028 announcement names the 2028 sailings of both ships Great Bear Rainforest & Alaska Explorer voyages. Seabourn Encore has a 21-night round trip on 9 June 2028.

At the other end, the shortest Alaska trips are 4 nights, and the 4-night ones go only as far as Ketchikan. Our short cruises guide has them with the other trips under a week.

Alaska ports of call from Vancouver

Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway are the three towns most Alaska cruises from Vancouver visit. Sitka and Icy Strait Point are on fewer trips, and the table shows which lines call there most.

PortSailings that call thereLines that call most often
Ketchikan672Almost every Alaska cruise from Vancouver
Juneau522Princess, Celebrity, Royal Caribbean and most others
Skagway516Princess, Holland America and most others
Sitka199Royal Caribbean, Seabourn, Viking, Celebrity, Silversea
Icy Strait Point205Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Princess, Viking, Disney

The counts cover the whole schedule, including the long voyages to Japan that stop in Alaska first. Smaller ports turn up mostly on the luxury lines and on Holland America's longer trips: Haines (48 sailings), Wrangell (28), Valdez (58) and Kodiak (26). Some trips stop in British Columbia too, at Prince Rupert (43) or Victoria (19).

The Inside Passage on a cruise from Vancouver

Princess describes the Inside Passage as "a protected coastal route" that runs from Washington state through British Columbia into Southeast Alaska. The round trips from Vancouver are Inside Passage cruises in that sense, with Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway among the main ports. Holland America names its 7-night round trips from Vancouver "Alaska Inside Passage" cruises.

Some lines list a day of scenic cruising through the Inside Passage as a stop in its own right. Our schedule shows one on 117 sailings, mostly Celebrity and Royal Caribbean round trips, which list it at the start and the end of the trip.

Glacier Bay cruises from Vancouver

Glacier Bay is a national park, and the National Park Service limits how many cruise ships may enter it. Its concession page says a daily vessel quota allows no more than two cruise ships a day, all year. It also sets seasonal quotas, "for 2017, (and until changed)": 153 use days in the prime season of June, July and August, and 92 in May and September. The park superintendent reviews them every year.

The park names the lines authorized to operate there: Princess, Holland America, Norwegian, Seabourn, Cunard and Viking. From Vancouver, our schedule has Glacier Bay days on four of them:

  • Holland America. 7-night round trips, mainly on Koningsdam and Zaandam, 7-night one-way trips north to Whittier, and 14-night round trips.
  • Princess. 7-night round trips on Emerald Princess, 7-night one-way trips north to Whittier on Crown Princess, Island Princess, Discovery Princess and Coral Princess, and 14-night round trips.
  • Norwegian. Norwegian Jade's 7-night one-way trips to Whittier. Norwegian says each one visits Hubbard Glacier or Glacier Bay.
  • Seabourn. Seabourn Encore's 14-night round trips and 7-night trips to Juneau.

On the day, the Park Service says, its naturalists board the ship to talk about the park and its wildlife. Typically two ships a day travel up the West Arm and spend 4 hours or more near the glaciers, and cruise passengers do not go ashore. The park's fact sheet counts seven active tidewater glaciers that calve icebergs into the sea.

The Glacier Bay route page lists all 323 sailings. On 4 November 2026 they started at $631 per person.

Hubbard Glacier cruises from Vancouver

Hubbard Glacier is in Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve. The Park Service calls it the longest tidewater glacier in North America, at 70 miles, on a page last updated in July 2017. Princess, on a page updated in June 2026, says it stretches nearly 76 miles.

Most Hubbard Glacier trips from Vancouver are one-way to Seward. Celebrity Solstice, Celebrity Equinox, Royal Caribbean's Anthem of the Seas, Silversea's Silver Moon and Explora III do it in seven nights, and Viking takes ten, adding Valdez. Coral Princess and Norwegian Jade sail this route to Whittier instead. The round trips are mainly Celebrity Summit's and Celebrity Millennium's 7-night trips, some Anthem of the Seas sailings and Explora III's trips of 10 to 14 nights.

Hubbard Glacier is on 258 sailings in all, because many Glacier Bay trips see both. College Fjord, the other glacier day on the Princess and Holland America one-ways, is on 216. See the Hubbard Glacier route page.

Endicott Arm and Tracy Arm cruises from Vancouver

Most trips filed under Endicott Arm or Tracy Arm are 7-night round trips. Tracy Arm is on 133 sailings in all, because many of Holland America's Glacier Bay round trips list it too, as Holland America's own page for its 7-Day Alaska Inside Passage does. Princess's 2027 announcement lists Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier as the alternative to Glacier Bay on Emerald Princess's 7-day itinerary.

  • Endicott Arm. Mostly 7-night round trips on Emerald Princess, Celebrity Summit, Celebrity Millennium, Royal Caribbean's Serenade of the Seas and Koningsdam, with a few on Explora III. Lowest fare on 4 November 2026: $749.
  • Tracy Arm. Serenade of the Seas' 7-night round trips, Silversea's 7-night trips one-way to Seward on Silver Muse and Silver Whisper, and Seabourn Encore's 14-night round trips. Lowest fare on 4 November 2026: $653.

Other Alaska cruises from Vancouver

89 Alaska sailings name none of the four big glacier days. Disney's round trips on Disney Magic and Disney Wonder are the biggest group: their listings show a day of "glacier viewing" without saying where. Regent's 7-night trips to Whittier on Seven Seas Explorer and Seven Seas Splendor, Seabourn's 7-night trips to Juneau and some Serenade of the Seas round trips are here too.

Smaller programs fill out the list: Oceania Riviera's 10 and 11-night trips to Seattle, Azamara Pursuit's round trips, and Virgin Voyages' Brilliant Lady on a 9-night trip to Seattle. Our small-ship and luxury Alaska guide compares those lines.

What an Alaska cruise from Vancouver costs

On 4 November 2026 the lowest starting fares by route were $631 for Glacier Bay, $674 for Hubbard Glacier, $749 for Endicott Arm, $653 for Tracy Arm and $419 for the other routes. Those are per person, for the cheapest cabin, with taxes and fees included.

The headline fare is not the whole cost of a one-way trip. You also pay to get from Whittier or Seward to Anchorage, and for a flight home from there. When we read the Alaska Railroad's fare page on 4 November 2026, its 2027 adult Adventure Class fares were $122 one-way from Whittier to Anchorage and $133 from Seward. A round trip has neither cost, so keep that in mind when you compare the two lowest Glacier Bay fares in the table above.

The luxury lines start much higher. The lowest fare on any Vancouver sailing was $6,498 on Seabourn, $4,600 on Silversea, $6,699 on Regent, $5,060 on Explora Journeys and $5,999 on Viking, on 4 November 2026. Before an Alaska cruise from Vancouver

Every trip starts at the Canada Place cruise terminal downtown. The Port of Vancouver says you go through U.S. Customs and Border Protection there, after security screening and before you board. Passport and visa rules depend on your citizenship and on whether your trip ends in Alaska, so read the cruise documents guide early.

For the day before sailing, see hotels near Canada Place and YVR airport to Canada Place. If you are flying into Seattle instead, see Seattle to Vancouver for a cruise.
